liverpool Liverpool celebrated being crowned European Capital of Culture 2008 along with Stavanger (Norway), with a spectacular festival of events. The city offers many leading cultural attractions to suit all ages.

On the world stage, Liverpool will forever be linked with the fab four, The Beatles, and each year it also plays host to the most famous horse racing event in the world – The Grand National.

Liverpool has more listed buildings than any UK city outside London, with truly world- class architecture. Many of the city’s leading attractions, including The Walker Art Gallery, fall into the city’s world heritage site.
